You don’t listen to REAL screamo: another dose of the hard stuff (Part 2)

Some people think Envy are boring:

Yes, they’re slow building, broody and atmospheric, but I fail to see how that can qualify a band as boring, especially one with the history and repertoire that Envy have. Starting out with their very raw, very straight out hardcore first release, Breathing And Dying In This Place in 1996, they quickly grew into something so much more sprawling and unique. Their 1998 follow up, From Here To Eternity, hinted at what was to come, building on the power and intensity of the earlier record whilst injecting some purpose and ideas into their textures and dynamics; from the isolating, building guitar that ushers in the second track, Trembled, to the step back at the heart of Compensation that drops all momentum before diving back into the fray once more.
